Purple Hill Air Ltd. provides general maintenance and painting for various types of aircraft. We are a Canadian Department of Transport Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO 74-98) and have been in operation since 1998.
John Goris, Owner and President, began his aviaiton career in 1988 by completing the AME program at Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario. John graduated from Canadore College in 1990 and received his AME licence in 1993. For the first 10 years of his career John provided maintenance for Cessna 337's, Aerocommander 500's and other various aircraft at Hicks and Lawrence Ltd. In 1998, John started Purple Hill Air Ltd. from his home based hangar and runway in Throndale, Ontario. John has experience maintaining Cessna, Piper and many homebuilt aircraft.
Today, Purple Hill Air Ltd. has two locations to serve you. The Purple Hill Air Thorndale maintenance and paint shop is located seven miles northeast of the London International Airport, London, Ontario, Canada (GPS coordinates N 43° 09.22 W 81° 07.64). The Thorndale facility is serviced year round by a 55'x2000' grass runway with no obstacles. In 2011, Purple Hill Air opened a second AMO shop at CYQS, St. Thomas Municipal Airport, St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. In 2017 John purchased a larger maitenance hanger at St.Thomas airport to better serve our customers, with a 45'x13'6" bifold door and more floor space.
Also in 2011, John purchased the St. Thomas Flight Center. The St. Thomas Flight Center is a registered private career college providing personalized, professional flight training.
